Why this program is different
A Full-Time, Hands-On Course — Not a Lecture Series
Most courses keep you in a seat. Here you spend the week in the operating room, scalpel in hand, learning the way surgery is actually learned — by doing it, repeatedly, under the eye of a surgeon who has performed more than 12,000 procedures.
Taught by an ISHRS Fellow
You learn directly from Dr. Akaki Tsilosani, MD, PhD, FISHRS — not an assistant — for the full duration of the course.
Real Patients, Real Surgery
You operate on live cases — assisting and leading — rather than practising only on models or simulators.
Two or Three Doctors, Maximum
Sessions are kept small and managed exclusively for your group, so your hands-on time is never shared with a large class.
What you'll learn
Every Major Technique in Modern Hair Restoration
The curriculum spans the full range of techniques used in the field today, plus the surgical-assistant skills that underpin a high graft-survival rate. You practise each one on real cases during the week.
Follicular Unit Excision (FUE)
Individual follicle extraction, punch selection, angle and depth control, and graft handling for minimal transection.
Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT)
Strip harvesting, donor closure technique, and dissecting the strip into viable follicular-unit grafts under magnification.
Long Hair Transplantation (LHT)
Transplanting non-shaven, long-hair grafts so patients can preview density and direction immediately after surgery.
Body Hair Transplantation (BHT)
Using beard and body donor hair to extend supply in advanced or limited-donor cases.
Microscopic Graft Cutting
Surgical-assistant skills: dissecting and trimming grafts under stereo microscopes to protect follicle survival.
Implantation & Hairline Design
Recipient-site creation, natural hairline design, graft placement, angle and density planning for a natural result.
Hands-on with real patients
Two Ways You Operate During the Week
Across the course you take part in roughly 18–20 surgical cases. In each, you harvest and implant several hundred follicular units — the exact volume depends on case availability, procedure size and your working pace.
Assist on Dr. Tsilosani's Cases
On private-patient procedures, Dr. Tsilosani operates and you assist — preparing grafts, supporting each stage, and observing the decision-making of an experienced surgeon up close.
Perform Key Surgical Steps Under Direct Supervision
Across the course you personally perform six hands-on operations on volunteer patients — acting as the lead surgeon and carrying out every step yourself, with a clinic doctor supporting you at each stage under Dr. Tsilosani's direct supervision. Volunteers are pre-booked and consent to trainee involvement.
The one-week program
Your Course, Step by Step
Six full, hands-on days built around the operating room. You progress through the complete surgical workflow — from the first consultation to launching your own practice — learning each stage on real cases alongside Dr. Tsilosani.
